Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Higher Education Opportunity Act, Louisburg College prepares an annual security report which is available to all current and prospective employees and students. The annual report addresses the college’s policies, procedures and programs concerning safety and security. Three years’ worth of statistics are included for certain types of crimes that were reported to have occurred on campus, in or on off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the school and on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus. Position: Registrar  |  Full-Time position

Summary

Louisburg College is a private, residential, two-year with enrollment ranging from 400-500 students.

The Office of the Registrar provides information about registration, academic records, and degrees while protecting the integrity of the admissions process and privacy of the student. The Office of the Registrar is a member of several Louisburg College campus-wide committees and works with Academic Advisors and Department Chairs to ensure that college policies and procedures are upheld. Additional responsibilities of the Office of the Registrar include: the planning and execution of registration of students, assigning of classroom space, authorizing grades, issuing transcripts, certifying degrees, creating articulation agreements, mailing diplomas, communicating FERPA guidlines to parents and students, and maintaining the Comprehensive Academic Management System's (CAMS) registration module.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all aspects of academic advising: including planning and promoting academic advisor training, assessing the effectiveness of advising institutionally in collaboration with an advising committee along with student feedback, and implementing advising strategies to maximize advisor efficacy.

  • Provides academic advising to dual-enrolled students.

  • Prepares/monitors yearly operating budget for the Registrar's Office.

  • Veteran Affairs Verifying Official: certifies VA benefits for students.

  • Certifies Phi Theta Kappa and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) student eligibility.

  • Provides reports concerning registration, academic records, and degrees while protecting the privacy and integrity of students' records.

  • Assists with accreditation/reaffirmation tasks as needed.

  • Manages transfer of credit, and fall, spring, and summer registration.

  • Oversees the issuance of transcripts, certification of degrees, and instructional scheduling.

  • Responsible for creating and updating articulation agreements.

  • Responsible for creating the college's academic calendar and updating the college catalog.

  • Communicates FERPA guidelines to students, faculty, staff, and parents. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, education, or a closely related field.

  • One year experience as a Registrar.

  • Three (3) years of demonstrated effectiveness in working with compliance regulations, catalog development, schedule creation and management, transcripts and student records, data compilation and evaluation.

  • Computer experience required. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

  • The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy required.

  • The ability to be sensitive and respond appropriately to the needs and concerns of students, faculty, college staff, and the public.

  • Foster and maintain a positive atmosphere to ensure all interactions are handled with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service.

  • The ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions.

  • The ability to work with diverse groups of people.

  • The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. 

  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Some performance of job duties may require evening hours and occasional weekends.

  • Teach up to 12 credits per semester
  • Participate in appropriate professional activities

  • Individual strategy coaching and content assistance for students with learning disabilities and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder;

Position: Business Faculty
Department: Humanities
Reports To: Division of Business and Social Science


Summary:

Business faculty are primarily responsible for teaching Business classes including Intro to Business and Business Communications which is housed in the Humanities Division. Faculty at Louisburg College are responsible for advising, providing service to the College, and completing professional development in relation to their field of study. Faculty perform duties as described in the job description, demonstrate a commitment to the College's mission, promote high ethical standards, and foster an atmosphere of collegiality. In addition, all faculty members teach at least 15 credits per semester, 30 credits per year and maintain the ability to teach undergraduate courses according to the SACSCOC.

This position is on-campus only. Louisburg College does not have any online opportunities at this time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and uphold the College's mission.

  • Maintain the ability to teach undergraduate courses according to SACSCOC.

  • Teach at least 15 credits per semester, 30 credits per year.

  • Advise students.

  • Prepare course material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.

  • Support the missions of Louisburg College.

  • Provide active support for all planning, accreditation, and assessment tasks. 

  • Participate in scheduled campus faculty development opportunities and workshops (including the Quality Enhancement Plan).

  • Support academic governance by serving on College committees and task forces.

  • Remain engaged in the campus community by supporting academic events, athletic events, convocations, faculty meetings, and the College's chapel program. 

  • Faculty may also be required to attend other academic events, at the request of the Vice President for Academic Life. 

  • Maintain effective communication with the College via the Vice President of Academic Life. During the academic year and summer, the official form of communication between the College and the faculty is via campus email and so it is important for the faculty to check and respond to their College email frequently. 

  • Spend at least 30 hours each week on campus involved in providing effective, relevant instruction and performing other College responsibilities, while spending 10 hours each week on campus providing office hours to students. 

  • Other duties, as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Life. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Business or an appropriate closely related field; Doctorate preferred. Must have earned 18 graduate credits in Business. 

  • Meet the SACSCOC criteria for teaching undergraduate courses.

  • Documented effective, relevant teaching in required and work experience in higher education is preferred.

  • Documented experience working successfully within a diverse student body.

  • Technology experience required. Demonstrate proficiency in the following - Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

  • Passion for learning and for seeking creative ways to teach students how to learn.

  • Evidence-based ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

  • Excellent and effective communication, planning, organizational and interpersonal skills.

The Adjunct Chemistry Instructor will teach various Chemistry classes, including General, Organic, and Biochemistry. Faculty must also fulfill their responsibilities as established by Louisburg College, mandated by state and federal policy, and required by accreditation standards. This position is a 10-month, part-time position - August to May.

  • Teach a variety of Chemistry classes.

  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities
